INKED VOICES, FRAMED STORIES – NYTLYF: 4PS CLUB RECITAL

Everyone has a story to tell—though not all are easy to put into words. That’s why the 4Ps Club (Pen, Pages, Podium, and Photography) held its recital, encouraging NytlYFers to find their own ways to express and cope—whether through journaling, reading, public speaking, or photography.

Before the event, the club hosted competitions in essay writing, poetry, and online photography, inviting NytlYFers to share their dreams and passions. First-place winner Josh Dalida performed his piece, highlighting the power of writing with lines like:

“The pen and paper a staples in our history.
Drove the wedge between nature with our creativity.
Incarnations of writing, papyrus, and inked reed,
Built an empire of sand, which thousands feared.”

Our Dutch friend Isa also shared a heartfelt poem about her experiences in the Philippines.

The event featured a podcast segment called ‘Silakbo’ (Surge of Passion), where three speakers opened up about how journaling, reading, public speaking, and photography became their outlets for growth and healing—showing everyone the importance of expressing rather than suppressing emotions.

To close the night, the 4Ps Club premiered the sequel to their film first shown at Jumpstart. Club coach and film writer Arvie Chavez shared:

“Celebrating the recital of 4Ps isn’t just about the club—it’s about recognizing how powerful passion and dreams really are. For me, they’re not abstract ideas but essential parts of who we are. They remind us what excites us, fuels our creativity, and keeps us going even when life feels uncertain.”
